What's normal supposed to mean in a situation like this?

I go back to being a guard if you guys let me. You go back to being the only real princess.

So, normal is someone telling you what to do?

Normal is getting to stay with you. Getting to help you and keep you safe.

[missedorientation]

[She crosses her arms.]

And if you're a princess, that suddenly goes away?

Well, no. But it gets a lot more complicated.

Not that complicated. I'm their kid, you're their kid, we both end up kind of their kid.

And we made out that one time and that’s not weird at all off we both kind of have the same parents.

Its only weird if you make it weird!

If you're just looking for some kind of proof that you aren't special, you're not gonna find it this way. Even if you aren't a royal doesn't change the fact that you're a person we like to have be part of the family.

It’s different if I’m just, I don’t know, marrying in?

[She sighs, leaning against the doorframe.]

...And what if its neither of us?

… I don’t know. But… they should have a chance to get to know their kid, you know?

Or we find out the real Kaori has been at the bottom of the ocean for the past sixteen years, destroying the last bit of hope Ma and Pa have left.

[ She looks away. ]

My mom was saying she would’ve taken me away from all of this if she could’ve. Let me grow up like a normal kid.

But when I found out I was wrong about everything… it sucked. I didn’t like it. I still don’t.

But I’d rather know. I’d rather know my dad isn’t some monster leaving my mom alone to raise a kid. That I wasn’t some… awful mistake or something that hurt my mom.

[She's not sure she agrees. Right now, the truth just seems like an awful lot of complication into what should be a good life. She wants things to slow down instead of speed up.]
